Tekken（Iron sword） marathon
We welcome more than 3,000 participants from inside and outside the prefecture, from beginner citizen runners to veteran runners. It is a course where you can experience ancient romance and history, such as the ancient lotus village and the Saitama Kofun group, and it is a major sporting event in the town where you can run through the warm spring sunshine and the refreshing breeze.

Sakitama Fire Festival
It is a fire festival that reproduces a scene of the myth recorded in Kojiki every year on May 4th at Sakitama Kofun Park where you can feel the ancient romance.
According to the Kojiki, the grandson of Amaterasu Okami, “Ninigi no Mikoto,” is married to the daughter of Oyamatsumi, “Princess Konohanasakuya.” Princess Konohanasakuya, who was suspected of having been pregnant with Ninigino’s life overnight, set fire to the maternity store, saying, “If you are the Son of God, you will be born safely in the fire.” It is said that Yukihiko Umi (Umisachihiko) and Yukihiko Yama (Yamasachihiko) were born safely. The Sakitama Fire Festival is a festival that follows the story and invites the viewer to the world of ancient romance and mythology.

Gyoda Lotus Festival

Floating Castle festival
Gyoda’s summer tradition festibal on the last Saturday and Sunday of July. The festival is lively with the “Danbe Odori”, which dances around the city with a powerful shout of “Sole, Sole!”, And the drums of the floats, and the town on a midsummer night is filled with excitement.

August
Summer evening festival with floating lanterns on the water
It is held every year on August 16th around oshi River Shoei Bridge on the north side of Gyoda City Station. It is a memorial service for the spirits that have become the cornerstone of Japan’s prosperity and peace, by shedding all the lanterns of the guardian spirit, the Sankai Manrei, and the unrelated lanterns.

A Chrysanthemum Show
To commemorate the establishment of chrysanthemums as the city’s flowers in 1974, it is held every year from late October to early November in front of the Gyoda City Local Museum. You can enjoy the sophisticated chrysanthemum cultivation techniques of lovers.

Oshi Castle Historical Festival
It is a festival held at the site of oshi Castle in mid-November. There will be a warrior procession dressed as a military commander related to the Oshi domain in the Edo period, and a performance using a matchlock gun. At the parking lots of the city hall and the Industrial Culture Center, there are events such as a large product bazaar, a manufacturing experience, and a brass band performance.

Ancient Lotus Park illuminations
The ancient lotus park is lit with about 150,000 balls of light. You can enjoy projection mapping, lotus objects, blue tunnels, etc. from the ground and from the observation tower with a height of 50m. There are also plenty of Instagram-worthy spots.
