Gyoda is at the southern reach of the salmon run along the Tone River, and in recent years the salmon have been returning in large numbers.
At the Tone Ozeki weir there are three fish ladders, and visitors can watch spawning salmon and other fish from an observation room along one of the ladders.
The salmon run is from mid-October to mid-November. Ayu fish can be seen from late April to late May.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see fish moving vividly in their natural environment.
